About InspiredJar

About InspiredJar

InspiredJar is a small ceramics studio based in Edinburgh, UK. We make wheel-thrown, hand-painted stoneware and ceramic pieces — plates, mugs, bowls, and storage jars — each shaped and decorated individually by hand.

Every piece is made from stoneware clay, glazed with food-safe materials, and fired in our studio. Because each item is made by hand, minor variations in shape, glaze, and painted detail are a natural part of the process. No two pieces are identical.

Our work is made in the UK and dispatched from Edinburgh. We ship to the United Kingdom, European Union, and selected international destinations.

Materials & Care

All InspiredJar pieces are made from glazed stoneware or ceramic clay. Food-safe glaze is used throughout. Items are dishwasher safe unless otherwise stated on the individual product listing.

Our Story: From the Earth to the Table

The People Who Mold the Clay
Each item in our collection starts with an intimate and peaceful experience in the workshop.we are craftsperson devoted to the artistry of ceramics. For us, the process of forming clay into objects is not simply a job but rather a dialogue between the earth and the mind’s creative vision. Whether it is a vase that will house precious contents or a bowl meant for breakfast, each creation arises out of the need to imbue the home with greater thoughtfulness and elegance.

The Process Itself Is A Form Of Beauty

Pottery requires slowing down to make a difference. Every piece, including plates, cups, and jars, is hand-thrown and hand-shaped, which ensures unique results. The textures and “imperfect perfection” are appreciated here.

We are convinced that the objects you interact with daily must have a spirit. That is why we concentrate on:

Purposeful Design: Simple and delicate designs that fit perfectly into any interior.

Quality Craftsmanship: Employing age-old techniques to produce robust and practical artworks.

Inspiration From Nature: Using natural and organic shapes and color palettes.

Why Do We Make

It is through the ritual that we define our artistry. There is something unique about carrying a cup that bears evidence of the maker’s touch or placing a handcrafted jar on the shelf, letting it bathe in the sunlight of the afternoon.

Our aim is to produce heirloom pieces that transform the everyday ritual of a coffee mug or dining together into a momentous occasion. By bringing one of our pieces from the studio into your own space, you become part of the legacy born of the simple act of sculpting clay between two hands.
